Overall, 91 percent used computers and 59 percent used the Internet among the students. What is more surprising is that even before kindergarten, a majority of nursery school children used computers, and 23 percent used the Internet.

The prices are reasonably cheap and can be afforded by a family, home school, day care center or preschool without any problems. The types of games that exist for little kids feature, music, rhythm, nursery rhymes, colorful characters, open-ended game play and creative activities that teach and nurture youngsters with fun. One thing that you should be sure to check before letting the children play the games is that you have yourself tested these games out and have approved of them.

In addition to being able to learn through playing online games, there are also computer reading programs available on the net. These programs are very helpful when it comes to teacher or learning how to read. The way that they work is very simple, once you've installed the program onto the computer all you need to do is have it read through some text and it will read aloud the selected words. It can even read whole stories, which means that the computer can read stories that the children want. There's a huge variety of online stories or e-books available that are made specifically for the use of these programs. This can be quite useful especially when the children cannot come to a unanimous vote on what story that should be read. Also, the highlighting of words during the reading phase promotes visual help as the story is read aloud.
